Greetings Friends

To say that I'm humbled by your willingness to partner with the Daily Audio Bible is an understatement. To say that the community cannot accomplish its mission without your partnership is a fact. When the DAB began on January 1, 2006, I didn't have a vast blueprint for all God would do among us but I did have a sense that the Bible needed to speak for itself without all the baggage. Part of that baggage (at least for me) was that I didn't want to turn the ministry into a beg-a-thon.

For the first year I supported the ministry and it's growth myself with a crucial donation of bandwidth by some fellow podcasters. Ah, nostalgia. By the second year the DAB was growing beyond my ability to invest the intense amount of time it took to produce and fully support it financially. God showed up through the community to shore up the loose ends and we survived without a bump. By the third year I realized the DAB was going to eventually take over my life and I needed to embrace that fact. Now I've come full circle. I still don't want the DAB to ever be a ministry that does anything in a high pressure fashion especially when it comes to the resources we all have to steward for the Kingdom of God. At the same time I've seen God change too many lives irreversibly to not be passionate about the mission we are all a part of here. I'm not ashamed to say that this cannot survive without each of us being as generous as we can to it because this isn't about me. It's about us.

We're at a crossroads in history technologically where things have lined up in such a way that we find ourselves doing something that's never been done before but where else would we expect Jesus to be? What an honor it is to bring back the ancient oral traditions of speaking aloud the Word of God. What deep satisfaction it brings to each of our hearts to know that we sit around a global campfire day and night congregating together to hear these Words of life and how rewarding it will one day be to know that we prayed. I don't claim to know all that the Daily Audio Bible ministry will ever accomplish in its season of advancing the Kingdom of God but I do know it's made a radical impact on tens of thousands of lives already. Building a giant enterprise and then using most of the resources available to mange such a thing doesn't really appeal to me. What I want to see is communities around the world sprout up, bloom and plant others all based upon the spoken Word of God and the principles of community we model here every day. In its simplest form we're doing the obvious, going into all the world and preaching the Gospel. If we stay focused on these things I believe we'll be able to look back on this season at the close of our life here on earth and smile that we were there when God showed up on the internet and everything changed.

Thank you for your partnership. Thank you for your friendship. You are heroes of the faith to me.
